Building a Talos in a Week - Day Five

Only one more day to go!  The model has got to be finished tomorrow, ready to go the gaming club on Thursday evening.  I've shaded and highlighted, so all I need to do now is finish the detail and the base.  I'd also like to do a bit more shading as well, but I'll have to see how much time I have tomorrow evening.  Here's where I've got to this evening, come back tomorrow to see what the finished article looks like...

Looks like it's coming along nicely. It looks great and getting it all done in a week is pretty impressive if you ask me.

As a side note, I would love to know the method/recipe you used for the yellow flesh. I bet it looks even better without the flash making it shine like crazy.

Very nice indeed and yes, tell us more about the painting.

Thanks guys! The flesh is painted using Vallejo Model Color Dark Flesh (70927) highlighted with Light Flesh (70928). Like you suggest, the flash has washed out the colours a bit.

I've gone for a very pale effect, as I'm going to be adding darker washes to bring out the detail. I'll be posting the final pictures later today!

I'm a fan of washes over light colors for pale flesh colors. I used a Payne's Gray (greyish blue) over an off-white color for some pale, pallid flesh on some of my CSM.

Do the dark flesh and light flesh really have a yellow tint or is the camera playing funny tricks on me?

Looking forward to seeing the finished product!

The light flesh colour is a little like GW Elf Flesh, so has a yellow tinge. I think the flash made it look a lot worse though. Hopefully the photos of the finished article will make it look a lot better :)
